Germans On Heightened Terror Alert As Suspicious Package Stopped In Namibia
Namibian officials discovered a suspicious package containing a fuse, clock, and wires (tests are pending as to whether the device contained explosives) on a Air Berlin flight bound for Munich.
The package did not include a destination address and the discovery comes on the heels of heightened alerts from the German government about a possible terror attack before the end of the month. Seems that they may have been on to something.
The key now will be to figure out whether this was an explosive device, and how it managed to get into the cargo/luggage of that flight. Did it get inserted in the Namibian airport, or did it come via another flight from an as yet unknown airport?
And was this part of a larger plot or a test run for a still pending attack? Those are the questions facing air security experts - and security screeners will have to be at the top of their game to keep the skies safe.
